About the Role
Responsibilities:
● Market new and existing business accounts to achieve sales and retention goals
● Negotiate terms for new business, renewals, and mid-term changes with
insurance carriers
● Gather and organize information from Producers for renewal and new business
submissions
● Analyze and review policy wordings to ensure proper coverage
● Monitor the insurance marketplace and maintain a database of changing
company "appetites"
● Follow up with insurers on outstanding items and review certificate requests for
adequate coverage
● Compare quotations for accuracy and outline coverage restrictions
● Provide alternate carrier options as needed
● Ensure no gaps in coverage for clients
● Bind coverage, prepare documentation, certificates of insurance, and mid-term
changes promptly
● Maintain daily contact with underwriters and policyholders
● Build strong relationships with insurance carrier representatives and agency
sales managers
● Stay updated on market trends, underwriting appetites, and company changes
● Attend seminars and classes for skill development
● Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
Requirements:
● Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
● CIP/FCIP designation (or working towards) is an asset
● Post-secondary education in a related field required
● RIBO licensed or willing to obtain within a year (preferred)
● Experience with Power Broker is an asset
● Knowledge of policy wordings and rating guidelines
● Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Mandarin/Cantonese
is an asset
● Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
● Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
● Strong attention to detail
